Satellite – Driver Assistance

When you're on the road and need help, Satellite Driver Assistance comes to the rescue – anywhere in Canada or the continental United States. Need a tow or a boost? Maybe you've run out of gas or locked your keys in the car. For just pennies a day, you can add Satellite coverage to your auto insurance policy to receive the following protection:

• emergency road services
• access to directions if you're lost or need an alternate route
• advice on vehicle maintenance or repair
• discounts on hotels and car rentals
• assistance with trip planning and emergency medical advice while abroad

Rental Car Endorsement

If your vehicle is damaged in an accident, you may need a rental vehicle while yours is being repaired. Basic Rental Car coverage can be purchased as an add-on to your auto insurance policy, providing you with a maximum of $1,000 coverage per occurrence. To better suit your needs, OTIP offers various limits for the Rental Car Endorsement, reaching up to $2,500. Having options means you may purchase a limit that suits you best to ensure you get a vehicle comparable to your own in the event of a claim.

Six Star Protector and Nine Star Protector Endorsement

If you have been driving for six years or more and have no at-fault accidents, you can protect your driving record in the event you have an at-fault loss with the Six Star Protector.

For an additional annual premium of $50 per vehicle, the Six Star Protector ensures that even if you are deemed to be at-fault in a future accident, your driving record and claims-free rating will remain unchanged, provided the accident does not violate any conditions of your insurance policy or result in a major or serious driving convictions.

If you've been driving for nine years or more and have no at-fault accidents, you could qualify for the Nine Star Protector.

Optional Accident Benefits

The Ontario government provides a basic, mandatory level of accident benefits coverage upon the purchase of an auto policy. OTIP offers the option to increase your coverage for any of the following accident benefits:

• Income replacement
• Caregiver and dependant care
• Medical, rehabilitation and attendant care
• Death and funeral
• Indexation benefit (ensures annual increases to monetary limits to reflect changes in cost of living)

Personal Umbrella *

Concerned you may not have enough liability coverage? Protect yourself and your family by purchasing a Personal Umbrella, and receive the following:

• Increased liability limits (from an additional $1 million to $5 million)
• Additional coverage for automobiles driven outside of Canada or the U.S.
• Coverage for your involvement as a director or officer of a non-profit group
• Peace of mind in case of a lawsuit

* You must insure your primary residence with OTIP to qualify for this benefit.

OTIP recognizes that certain items or situations do not fall within a standard auto insurance policy.
